ex ovo omnia

monday night, i went to the konsum supermarket just around the corner to buy a box of eggs. i had signed into the list for the christmas party supplies as the muffin lady on duty. ever since monday evening i am once again suffering from guilty conscience because i had bought battery eggs. they were the only ones left at the store and i recoiled inwardly as soon as my hand streched out to take a six-pack of eggs off the shelf displaying the products of cruelty to animals.

two eggs have been used so far for said muffins for the christmas party. the remaining four eggs are still sitting inside their box, waiting to be consumed. one part of me absolutely refuses to eat the produce of modern animal slavery and, thus, support the company who is responsible for those abysmal living conditions for the hens. the other part of me says, 'eat them! it's the only way to honour those poor creatures.'

at least the day is drawing ever closer when no more caged hens are allowed in the EU. is it 2012 yet???

in the mean time, allow me to preserve the remaining four eggs in this virtual space.

contrary to common belief, they do not look alike once you've had a closer look.

nein,das tun sie in der Tat nicht, die Ästhetik wandelt sie in KZ-Häftlinge - nummer, stoff, Haut....athemberaubend!

ich hab sie noch immer nicht gegessen. am sonnabend mach ich omlett mit ganz vielen zutaten. damit sie einen würdigen abgang haben.
