it's been proven countless times already: life has a sarcastic streak to it. yesterday morning, was just another example. this time on the subject of language, though.

situation 1: overhearing a post-puberty example of the male gland (though with a seemlingly pre-puberty grasp on life) in a back-alley of leipzig, speaking the broadest saxon dialect imaginable

eh, aldor! isch bin groahd an dor dankschdelle offgewachd un habb geene oahnung wie isch dord hingegomm bin! (translation: ey, mothafogga! jusd woge ub add the beddroal sdtation and ain'd god no glue how i god there!)

situation 2: a few minutes after encountering situation 1, in the middle of the christmas market, cutting my way through a horde of bavarian tourists. five metres on, overhearing a women whose accent clearly distinguishes her as of north-german origin

lotte!? isst dier auch schon aufgefallen? säck-sisch klinkt wie bairisch! (translation: lotte!? tit youh nohtis? sack-son sounts like bavarian!)
