Sunday, February 7. 2010  birgit and major. what have you done to me? this starsky and hutch fandom is lethal -- a complete wackjob. i tell ya!!! though, i have to admit, i was already into the show some 17 years ago when it was still aired on german telly. proud member of team starsky then. proud member of team starsky now! hey, i gotta stick to my beuteschema... (and, no!, that's not dubya on the right, but roland totheroh!!!)browsing the web today, i found an insane trivia page listing all the strangest occurances on the show. like 'starsky touches hutch', 'hutch touches starsky', 'they touch each other' and 'other body contact'. not to speak of the categories 'body count', 'what time is it?' or 'booze', 'drugs' and 'literacy'. honestly! and i thought i had too much spare time in my spare time. see for yourselves. edit: now complete with major's torino. but it doesn't end here. there are tons of badly written fanfic out there. otherwise it would harldy be accountable as fandom. if it ain't got badfic, it ain't fandom. it's as easy as that. and what's fandom without slash, eh? in the 80s they had fics -- in the naughties, they have slashvids. speaking from experience, i've had my fair share of bad!fic from all sorts of fandom, the vids tend to be much better than the stories. and in the case of s&h, i'd say they're better by miles!

who cares anyways? -- well -- I do! This "are they" gossip is really getting on my nerves, somehow, a bit, kids - only teenagers with a hormone overflow could think "they are" (still the video is brilliant)
not only teens with hormonal overflow think that, but frustrated housewives in their late fourties think so, too. maybe it's a symptom. i'm just making fun of the reversal of gender roles in this case, because the writers and actors decided to so go against the male stereotype of the 70s with these two characters. (you wouldn't find something quite as risky these days on american telly. leave it to the brits and canadians to shake things up for the male ego.)
