Learnwch Gymraeg!

for about a month now, i have been learning welsh. rydw i'n dysgu yr iaith gymraeg, to be precise. and, my duw!, it's difficult. it's one thing to wrap your heas (pen) around all those different forms of 'bod'. and just when you thought you managed, out jumps a variant for forming questions. or another special rule when aswering a question that begins with 'pwy' (who). and that is not yet including the two different versions (or at least the two i have found out about so far) of saying, 'no.' but on the upside, i've found a couple of words that made me smile a lot. like the translation of 'shop assistant'. if it's a woman, it literally translates to 'working woman' -- gweithwraig. how sweet is that! (still don't know what a male shop assistant is called in welsh, though. maybe they don't exist...)

next, i shall find out the real difference between the use of 'nabod' and 'gwybod'. in english they both mean 'to know' -- but in german they are 'kennen' and 'wissen'. so there's a slight difference. till then, i'll keep on trying to wrap my head around all the evil mutations. 'benyw' mutates to 'yr fenyw' -- but 'llaw' stays the same when attaching the definite article. randwm!

Right – Tonight begins the latest attempt of Stiwart trying to get his head around the ‘impossible’, or ‘German’ as its also known in the common tongue (Sorry for the Lord of the rings reference).

I asked to be put on the medium standard for this intensive course I start tonight, as I know a little bit of German. Well actually… I can remember bits from living there as a child and I just annoyed Rita for weeks with asking questions constantly on the Sofa, Was ist das? And for some reason shouting my German, which I blame on WWII films, Nena 99 Luftballons and Monty Python. Although, I still think it should be recognised as an official dialect, Stiwart Deutsch! Slowly though I am getting my head around ‘CH’, but sadly when I Say ‘Ich’, it still sounds like I am speaking Welsh!

Well...

After a horrid twelve hours without being able to access the weblog, stiwart finally carms down, removes the sweat from his brow and smiles to himself. And all of a sudden the blog has become slightly political, with all this talk of Burnma and some German bird being shunned because she met an old buddist! Well what is the world coming to I say...

Sorry i am in a very conservative mood today,  as all over the television and Radio the country is going nuts over this European Union thingy! Yes, yes, yes i am aware that this subject is a bit of a dangerous area! But i would like to point out that our dictator, who was not elected, is going to sign that bloody treaty thing and call a snap election - THE BASTARD. Soon they will be introducing French into schools and buying our car makers and calling them BMWs!

Burma has barely been covered due to this evil! Although now, thankfully because of the updates of Rita I now have some idea, and of course the BBC website. I would like to point out some issues i have with blaming the British for the fall of Burma. God remenber 'The road to Mandalaye?'

In other news...

Dear all

Well the great flood has subsided and I actually have enough time to sit on my ass and Blog. Well the main issue of the day is there is no longer tons of water flowing either around my feet or place of work!

The government has actually got of its ass and sent some sort of relief package. And yesterday I was given a T-Shirt saying I survived the great 2007 flood! I am very proud if not still a little damp from the Rain. But the main issue is that we all learnt that if a pub is threatened by a 2 feet rush of water, locals will use their own bodies to protect it, and I saw that with my own eyes.

How’s life me peeps?

 

Well it’s been very boring here. Nothing has happened. Well that cat that very rudely got into my garage and involved roof climb was not caught by the RSPCA, so that was pointless!

 

I was invited out to the bar on camp tonight, but I am not sure I want to go. I don’t really know the people that well, although I did used to work with them! Oh I am in such an indecisive mood!

 

I think I will now go to work on some of my German and go for a cig!

After much thought and consideration I believe that it’s in the interest of the Web log and the entire world (of which Rita has considerable online influence) that we come up with a Scale of Rita-isums!

Colli Iaith, Colli credu! Losing Language, losing Belief!

That is the main lyric to the famous song Colli Iaith. I was walking threw bangor today and found that there was a group of old welsh people singing it below the bangor clock tower. It was really werid. One came and spoke to me and said in welsh - you one of those incomers are you? I said in Welsh 'What the hell you on about?" She smiled gave me a leek and walked away!

Okay what a strange day this has turned out to be!

And literally i have just got a text from Kevin! The sexy Kevin who i am still obsessed with! Oh god i am starting to melt into a leek soup or something.

Well as we all know! The usage of language is a fundimental importance to the world. However i would like to point out one thing! Teutonic languages smell of Poop! As a result i believe the world must learn 'Celtic', here are he most important words! The swear words!
