as it is super election year 2009 in germany, s. and i just came back from our third trip to the ballots within the past six months. today it was for the bundestag. hands up who can show an equal track record.

barack obama arrived in washington, d.c, yesterday. he took the train into the city and talked to some of the passengers.

two more days till inauguration. i just can't wait to witness it all on the big screen at the official party here in leipzig. in the meantime: cnn took some footage of the president elect on board the barack express.

obama is not even sworn in that bush, #41, puts forth his younger son, jeb, to become #45. as if #43 hadn't done enough damage already, now the family wants to seal the package? first have #44 clean up the mess of the elder bush-son -- and have him followed by another 'dirty, commie liberal friend of terrorists'.

of course at this time it's just a playing with ideas. but this is when you start your presidential race: right before the new one has been sworn in. i really shouldn't have watched that amount of west wing. it makes one rather paranoid when it comes to things like that...

there are crazy things in this age of the internet, then there are the clever and the beautiful. and then there are moments when all those three combine. barack obama's flickr account falls into that latter category.

finally, finally, finally, after 8 years of abysmal government, the democrats are the winning team again. obama will have a difficult first term, what with cleaning up eight years of political, financial and social mess at home. but at least he is the one who will turn around his country and put it back on his feet again.

over the past 18 some months, the democrats campaigned with the slogan, 'yes we can!' -- and by god, they do!

this week the obama/biden team landed a super coup by placing their 30-minutes ad during the best broadcast time on telly. the presidential candidate narrates the video about the lives of middle class families, their stories and how their lives have been affected by the bush administration during the past eight years.

vote for change. vote obama!

these are not yours to take. can i have them back since you won't be needing them anymore after 19 january.

... and headdesking becomes olympic. honestly, the woman has no clue!!! as jack cafferty put it so nicely, her credentials include being the governor of a state with twelve men and a caribou. seems like the media are finally waking up to this scary sh*t called the republican VP pick who is just a heartbeat away from the codes to the nuclear missiles. and if that doesn't scare the living bejeesus out of you, then you should hear it straight from the horse's mouth perhaps.

let's just hope things in real life will turn out as they did for matt santos. (although i wouldn have given senator vinick my vote for the simple, fangirlish reason that he was played by alan alda...)
