i have just spent some four hours on the phone with friends and we were mutually at our whits' end and we three kept repeating the same phrases over and over again. 'i am lost for words! i can't form a coherent thought!'

a quick search query on deviantART with the words 'cute nazi' returned a staggering number of 1,365 hits. that is discounting an unchecked number of nazis and fascists on there promoting their 'art' and helping deviantART fill their own pockets by passively lending a platform to these people. they seem to fall into two categories: dumb girls between the age of 14 and 18 who truly think that mengele was as cute as a button and göbbels just your average kind of misunderstood adorable sweetums of a guy. and then there are the hardcore, die-hard, true neo-nazis who wank to american history x and send their love to deary adolf. yeah, the last time i visited a concentration camp i smiled with glee. especially when i remembered that spread in country&style and suddenly realised that good german oak makes for a hell of a good barrack for outings over the weekend.

most of all i am disappointed and disgusted by the owners of deviantART, though, for supporting antisemitism on the web by lending these people webspace for free!!! i had once thought of opening an account there. not so much now. i won't stoop so low and associate with such people who piss on the millions of graves filled on account of nazis cheerully wanking over human suffering in the most painful, most dreadful way unimaginable.

deviantART, you truly have revealed yourselves as the sad bastards of this passing year!

preparing for my seminars tomorrow, quite by accident i stumbled across the charming flickr portfolio of a british cartoonist who goes by the name of tom gauld. his work has already been picked up by the guardian and recently he has also illustrated a book sleeve for a publication about british history. especially the comic strips concerned with literature, british history and critical theory tickled my funny bone.

may i present to you a very funny blog supporting the sisterhood with entertaining entries. blogging against sexism, homophobia and the fashion industry, the authors are doing plenty good. my dear ladies, i give you the heartless dolls:

today, my dears, i give you the infinite yard stick. honestly, it measures *everything*!!!

presently, northern germany is being hit again by swarms of ladybirds. it's a natural phenomenon that happens every couple of decades. i can remember one summer (i guess it was 1989), when you just couldn't avoid killing at least 100 little bugs with every single step you took. they were just that many. it's quite a gruesome phenomenon, but it never lasts for more than a couple of weeks. it's just a sign of a really humid summer with lots to eat for the ladybird larvae. that's all really. unless you start reading german newspapers, that is...

after a very long absence of this category, i thought it was high time to reactivate it. and twitter made me do it. though i still don't see the appeal of hundrets of millions of people twittering that they just had a bowl of cereal for breakfast, only to twitter a mere five minutes later that they had just had a dump, there are at least some twitterers that are worth mentioning.

take the apollo 11 mission for example. a few days ago their account was activated and they plan on releasing single tweets in order to recreate the original mission of 40 years ago. in a way, those who were born too late now have the chance to experience apollo 'as it really happened'.

there are hundreds and thousands of was of avoiding work. like using this nifty application to change yourself into a lego-figure. it's just a damn right shame that i won't be able to buy the mini-me in the end. this is my plastic version with painted on boobs and a more than usually square butt. so what's your's?
