instead of just counting off the different stations of my life in the past 365 days, let me just show you, what i did on the occassion. spanning from one new year's eve to another, it seems like most of my activities have been taped either by night or underground with an equal lack of proper light.

to conclude this series, here is the fourth part from my four-days visit to london last week. there are tons more pictures, of course, but you can only so often look at jude law before you get bored. that's you. not me. i could never get bored with looking at the pretty boy.

and now to the main attractions: hamlet, jude law, hamlet, the wyndham's theatre, jude law, upcoming new actors who look like cute little hobbits, jude law. have i mentioned lately, that we went to london last week in order to see jude law in hamlet -- playing hamlet? btw. pretty boy may attrackt very low expectations, due to the very common opinion of, 'how often have you seen film actors successfully take the stage?' (::cough:: tom cruise ::cough::) but jude law aced it! and i knew he would because he had played on a stage before. successfully, may i add. he may attrackt loads of negative press and, well, in some of the cases he deserves it! you just don't go around bonking and impregnating everything that's gets in your path. but that certainly doesn't take away the fact that he's a bloody brilliant actor. angry!hamlet was quite a treat. like being dipped in chocolate and then eaten alive.

this morning for something different, but not so unexpected. here are my three chaplin moments during the last week. the first one was meeting little chuckles on leicester square where some nearly 30 years ago they unveiled a sculplure of the little fellow -- which looks nothing like his real-life counterpart, except for the mustache. the second chaplin-moment was finding a poster advert for victoria chaplin and her husband's invisible circus. and the third moment was paying a little visit to the duke of york's theatre in the west end (just around the corner from the wyndham's). here ickle chuckles played billy the page boy in the gillette adaptation of sherlock holmes. -- my three comrades, mary, ellie and alex bore these moments of spontaneous public fangirling like brave soldiers.

it is a bit strange: all those four times i have been to the island so afr, the weather was pretty much constantly splendid. in and out of season. hardly any rain -- and nearly 30°C last week. i even got a slight tan which is something that happens only once every decade. and because we were so extremely lucky, the pictures came out especially well. so, here's the first round of pictures from an extremely sunny london. including pictures from an extremely nocturlan london.

so long as i can make use of this open access to the web, i thought i might as well share some impressions from my first afternoon here in london. i was a bit worried flying into britan, because the mainland was completely covered in clouds. but the moment, i walked out of thhe airport, it began to clear up .. and by the afternoon, i nearly caught the first sunburn this summer. and because we were walking around a very hot and very sunny london, we were getting slightly thirsty and hungry by five o'clock. which lead to jim inviting us all to a round in a pub and to a homemade dinner afterwards. (i hope the garlic doesn't have too bad after effects...) and today, the temps are immense again!!! and its only barely half eight. so when i'll be going to primark this afternoon, i am going to get a pair of short trousers fit to wear in the tropics -- and then i am going to crash in an obliging park nearby and read a bit in nostromo.

it has taken longer than i had originally planned, but here are finally the pictures of the many chaplin locations in and around kennington and what was formerly walworth. the short trip across the thames and into the south of london was the first part of stiw's and my marathon walk through london three weeks ago. just let me say, i got more out of it than i had bargained!

it's quite surreal, but it is already two weeks ago that stiw and i stumbled through the city centre of london. it feels just like yesterday such a magnificant day it was. so here is the third and final round of pictures from that day. (i'm starting to wonder already what will happen once i set foot into oxford. my camera might explode from the strain...)

by virtue of the hyper link, i present you some of the pics i took whilst touring london with stiwart two weeks ago. we couldn't have asked for finer weather. i think the universe was pretty much in our favour that day.

as you know, stiwart and i had been on a magical mystery tour across london on saturday. just to give you an incling of what we covered, here are some public signs and other interesting [read 'exceedingly british as opposed to german'] signs. it pretty much goes without saying that we were pooped by the end of the day.

after just about 48 hours back in wales, it seems i'm picking up the local accent again. but that's not the most important news of the week. dear gentle reader, after more than two years of separation, bedlam celebrated its long awaited reunification. members included rhiannon, jim, lucy, stiw and ce moi. and what can i say? it was more than just great! it was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

this morning i found in one of my trusty LJ communities an entry that announced the cast for the 'hamlet' production with jude law this spring and summer. behind the cut, find the assemlebed key players. and there are going to be some other biggies on the stage besides mr law!

maria's and my harebrained idea (or shall i rather call it brain child?) took an unexpected turn of events today. instead of going on a magical mystery tour to london with our former lecturer but soon to be colleague, jürgen, and a bunch of students, we suddenly found ourselves in the train of sabine the great, owner of credit cards and willing victim and accomplice all rolled into one. which is just as nice. especially that now we don't have to mind the minors! and we can direct our full attention towards the man of the hour!
